The SAB Screened PVC insulated compensating and extension cables of the A5 and A20 series differ in terms of material use. The compensating cables are made from alloys that are different than the corresponding thermocouple, but have to conform to the same thermo-electric characteristics in the allowed temperature range up to200 °C. They are marked by a C letter behind the code letter (f.e. KC), according to the DIN IEC 584. Extension cables are made out of same material as thermocouples, and are marked by a X letter, behind the code letter, DIN IEC 584 compliant. They have been tested on temperatures up to 200 °C. Wire surface varies from 0.22 to 1.5 mm².
